Biography of Michael Aaron Gallagher

Michael Aaron Gallagher is best known for his work as an entertainment journalist, celebrity photographer, independent movie actor and producer.

As the founder and editor-in-chief of the global entertainment business news magazine StayFamous.Nethe has interviewed and photographed some of Hollywood's biggest stars. 

In 2011, he took on a new role as a film producer. He was named as an executive producer of two New York city-based independent short films, "Terminus" by award-winning director Barnett Brettler and "Other Days" by director Adam Gundersheimer. He was an associate producer of "First Kiss" by director Yulin Kuang and "Step One" written by Hollywood screenwriter Allison Burnett and directed by Max Gold. He was also a financial backer of the films "Kids on the Run" by director Nolan Goff and "No Hay Nada Mas" by director Giovanni Solis.

As an award-winning writer, his work has appeared in print for an audience of more than 75 Million readers in the United States.

In 2009, he was quoted on the front of the DVD cover for “Sky Kids,” starring Stephen Baldwin and Tom Sizemore (which was released in the United Kingdom) and on the official movie poster for "20 Mississippi." In 2004, his idea for a fashion photo shoot was chosen by Tyra Banks as a semi-finalist for America’s Next Top Model’s Viewer Choice Challenge, something he credits for giving him the courage to pursue his passion for the entertainment industry.

In 2009, he made his feature film debut as a character in the independent horror film “Ms. Cannibal Holocaust” (SRS Cinema) by award-winning Director Ron Bonk ("Clay") and award-winning Executive Producer Jonathan Straiton ("The Two Plates")

He has attended numerous movie premieres and industry events including the world premiere of the Universal Pictures film “The Express: The Ernie Davis Story,” the Syracuse International Film Festival, the Rochester High Falls International Film Festival and the B-Movie Film Festival. 

He is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he attained a B.S. in Marketing Management from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. At the age of 17, he graduated from Columbia University's Earth Systems Field School at the Biosphere 2 Center in Oracle, Arizona, where he studied biodiversity within the marsh ecosystem. He was also a soccer player at both the 1997 World Scholar-Athlete Games and the 1999 Inaugural U.S. Scholar-Athlete Games, hosted by the Institute for International Sport in Kingston, Rhode Island.

He holds an MBA from Columbia College, where his 150-page master's thesis was a strategic audit of DreamWorks Animation SKG, with management recommendations for the Hollywood movie studio.

His poetry was selected for the 2011 Syracuse Poster Project series, on display in art galleries around the city of Syracuse. He was asked to be a special speaker at the 4th Annual Native Circle Festival, where he read his poetry celebrating Native American culture.   

He is currently an assistant editor at the Scotsman Media Group newspapers (the largest home-delivered publication in Central New York with a readership of more than 367,000) and Today's CNY Woman magazine, the #1 women's magazine in Central New York.
